A concealed frame for the toilet is a commonly used technology for mounting toilet bowls, urinals, and bidets in a modern bathroom. This solution is extremely popular due to its uncomplicated installation and undeniable aesthetic and functional qualities. It slightly increases the costs of bathroom arrangement due to the need for installation, but allows for effective concealment of sanitary installations. What concealed set should be considered to ensure long-lasting and trouble-free use? Geberit or Grohe? Which company produces the highest quality frames?
What distinguishes a concealed toilet frame?
Concealed frames are used in both small bathrooms and large bathing rooms. The structure hidden in the wall provides an aesthetic appearance to the room, and the ceramics placed at any height above the floor facilitate maintaining cleanliness in the bathroom. The concealed system also allows for additional space for portable toiletries or offers the chance to create an attractive and functional niche. Eliminating the pedestal on which the toilet usually rests allows for free access to sanitary facilities, which is particularly important for people with disabilities and small children.
An undeniable advantage of the concealed system is its noise insulation. Thanks to the built-in flush, the filling and draining of water is inaudible. Additionally, the applied foam inserts reduce the noise generated by the working flush, and the installation conceals the drainage pipe and effectively dampens the sounds accompanying the water drain.
In a set or separately?
On the market, classical models of concealed frames are most commonly encountered. Their powder-coated frame is solid and durable. It provides safe use as it can withstand loads of up to 400 kg. To the purchased frame, we can freely select other accessories. These include: a concealed flush, a flushing button, various types of toilet bowls, toilet seats, as well as products necessary for assembling the entire structure and connection elements to the sewage system. Customers who value their time and at the same time prioritize comfort and convenience will certainly choose a complete concealed set equipped with all necessary construction elements.
Concealed toilet set - light or heavy?
Concealed frames are great solutions for modern bathrooms. A properly selected and correctly installed concealed frame will serve well for many years. Manufacturers offer frames for masonry walls and those requiring structural reinforcement, i.e., for wet installations, as well as models for lightweight construction walls. Which concealed frame should be chosen that will prove reliable?
Concealed frame for lightweight installation
The concealed frame for lightweight installations, also known as dry construction, is primarily intended for installation in drywall, but it is also suitable for mounting against masonry walls. Its base consists of a powder-coated self-supporting steel frame. Thanks to its solid and stable construction, the frame can be installed in massive walls, partition walls, and installation walls. The frames are equipped with special brackets that facilitate installation. The frame is mounted to the floor or both the floor and wall simultaneously and then covered with special profiles and water-resistant plasterboard. Depending on the installation height, three options can be distinguished:
- low installation frames with a height of 80-90 cm,
- high installation models with a frame height ranging from 110 to 130 cm,
- self-supporting structures with a reinforced frame made of larger cross-section profiles.
Concealed frame for heavy installation
The concealed frame for heavy installation, or wet installation, is intended for mounting in masonry walls. After its installation, the structure should be plastered and covered with waterproof panels. On them, ceramic tiles or other types of finishes can be laid. Wet installation frames are significantly cheaper, although their assembly is more demanding and time-consuming. This type of installation requires more labor, but it provides an excellent solution in small bathrooms where every bit of surface area counts. It cannot be installed against drywall, as they will not withstand the pressure.
