Classification of bathtub faucets

The simplest bathtub faucet consists solely of a single, usually immobile tap, equipped with two knobs (one for hot, the other for cold water). Such two-handle faucets are most often found in very old buildings. They are impractical and uneconomical. Maneuvering two knobs to set the appropriate water temperature results in water wastage.

Slightly newer sink models are now single-handle. We call them mixer taps because the faucet mechanism mixes hot and cold water and, upon one-time activation of the lever, a stream with the desired temperature flows. When choosing such a product, we consider both economic and ecological aspects.

Sometimes, in such sets, apart from the removable showerhead, the standing spout is also movable, and it can be positioned parallel to the edge of the bathtub. Thanks to the possibility of hiding the shower hose in the bathtub casing, we gain extra space and easier access to the faucet elements.

Fixed spout bathtub faucets

Until recently, static spouts dominated the range of bathroom faucets. They were mounted on the wall or on the rim of a bathtub or sink. This was not a convenient solution because it did not allow for changing the position of the spout or directing the water stream in the desired direction. The water could only flow in one place. This system prevented performing many tasks, such as rinsing the bathtub, washing hair, or filling a tall container with water. The fixed spout also posed a risk for children bathing, as it was easy to bump into it while playing in the bathtub. Extended far into the middle of the bathtub, it made exiting the bath difficult for those with limited mobility.

Advantages of faucets with a movable spout

Among the numerous types of bathroom faucets, those with a movable spout deserve special attention. They can be maneuvered and positioned according to needs. Particularly innovative are the shower sets with a foldable spout. These types of faucets are often installed with kitchen sinks placed under windows. They are also installed in small bathrooms, where every centimeter of space is precious. A foldable spout installed in a small shower cabin occupies much less space than a fixed one, thus not restricting movements and ensuring a safe shower. Installing this type of spout represents another step towards an unusual bathroom arrangement made with minimal cost.

Pull-out spouts

Among customers looking for innovative design solutions, faucets with a pull-out spout, whose hose is hidden in the bathtub casing, are gaining popularity. These devices feature a functional, removable showerhead that allows controlling the water stream and directing it anywhere. From a wide range of bathroom fittings, you can also choose a faucet consisting of a body with an attached movable showerhead. A high faucet equipped with a switch allows changing the water supply from the spout to the showerhead and vice versa. In the absence of a shower cabin, both the first and the second model will successfully replace a shower. Choosing a movable spout will certainly ensure greater comfort of use.
