When is it Necessary to Replace Shower Cabin Parts?

The shower, like other shower fittings in the bathroom, is often used, so it may break down. The most common faults include:

  • leaky shower faucet;
  • rusty showerhead;
  • rusty holes;
  • broken function switch;
  • damaged shower faucet;
  • leaking shower handheld.

Most of them you can repair yourself. Before you decide to install new shower elements, check if the old panel is worth repairing. If the shower arm is rusty or there is a hard water deposit on it that is difficult to remove, it's best to buy a new one. If you want the shower products to be durable against mechanical damage, try to pay attention during shopping to ensure they are of high quality. The strength of these products is also available in the online store. You will find various categories, including shower arms. By choosing high-quality shower parts, you will be sure that their operation will be correct for a longer time and that they are products worth their price. When buying such elements, it's worth choosing the best.

How to Properly Install a Shower Arm? See What to Do Step by Step

To install a shower arm, we need to use the right tools that are usually available in every home, so check if you have:

  • a tape measure or another tool that allows you to measure and mark a specific place;
  • a screwdriver;
  • a hammer;
  • adjustable wrenches;
  • a drill;
  • two ceramic drill bits;
  • brackets;
  • a shower column.

If you want to install a new column, start by disassembling the old shower column. Follow the instructions below (trust us, we know what we are doing as manufacturers!):

  1. first, detach the hose, then the shower mounts used to hold the arm;
  2. next, place the holder on the shower pipe and see if the element remaining on the wall is tightened;
  3. attach the water showerhead to the pipe. Install the lower holder in the same way as the upper one. Place a soap dish on the pipe;
  4. tighten the function switch with an Allen wrench to the lower part of the column, and then install the showerhead. Check if the height suits you, if not, adjust it on the column;
  5. tighten the plastic screws in the mounting holders and place shower caps on them. Tighten one end of the hose to the handheld shower and the other to the function switch;
  6. next, you need to determine the angle of inclination of the handheld and tighten this part with a Phillips screwdriver.

Is It Better to Install the Showerhead Itself or Choose a Panel Showerhead for the Bathroom?

The showerheads, also known as rain showerheads, are devices that have been becoming increasingly popular for some time now. A showerhead is mounted on the ceiling or wall. Unlike traditional handhelds, they differ in size and type of stream. During bathing, water flows from them with varying intensity, from gentle jets that imitate rain. Showerheads allow for the adjustment of the intensity of the water stream according to our needs. This is a solution recommended for modern bathrooms where there are shower niches or glass walls. A rain showerhead can also be installed in a bathroom with a traditional shower or a bathtub. However, in the latter case, we must remember about an additional shower fitting element — a screen.

What Showerheads Do You Have to Choose From? Products You Should Consider

If you decide to install a showerhead in the room, you have several products/options to choose from:

  • a showerhead that can be installed on the ceiling with a special shower holder;
  • also available is a showerhead mounted on a wall holder or panel;
  • within this category, there is also a wall-mounted concealed showerhead.

The downside of a showerhead is that you cannot use it without getting your hair wet. Therefore, when choosing a new product, we can decide to purchase a showerhead together with a shower faucet. This model of the showerhead is connected to the shower faucet with a rigid tube that provides a stiff support. This model of showerhead can be mounted on a decorative surface.

Another way to install a showerhead is to attach it to the old model of the faucet. In both cases, think about how you want the showerhead to be installed, whether you prefer it to be on the surface or concealed. Thanks to the first solution, you will save a lot of space, as all bathroom fittings are hidden. The second one is recommended to be used during the finishing stage of a new home.
