A linear drain is a solution that allows for the installation of a shower without a shower base in the bathroom. This way, the cabin can be placed directly on the floor. The slope strip also works well if you love minimalism or when there is no space for a classic cab with a shower base, and instead, a glass wall or even just a shower curtain is used. It can also be mounted to some shower bases.
So, what is the strip used for? The slope strip for a shower is essential in many situations, allowing for convenient and, above all, quick drainage of water, ensuring that bathing does not end up flooding the bathroom. Modern Finish for Shower Cabin

- stainless steel strips: this is the most classic and universal solution that fits into any interior. Stainless steel is resistant to corrosion and mechanical damage and is easy to maintain cleanliness;
- aluminum slope strips: they are lightweight and aesthetic, available in various colors and finishes. This material is also resistant to corrosion and easy to care for.
Moreover, there are various types of slope strips:
- strip for shower glass: it is used in walk-in shower cabins, where the shower glass is mounted directly to the floor without a shower base;
- wall-mounted slope strip for shower base: mounted in wall-mounted shower bases, where the base is installed against one wall of the bathroom. It drains water from the base towards a point or linear drain;
- strip for linear bases: it is used in linear bases, where the linear drain is along one edge of the base. Additionally, it conceals the edge of the base and drains water toward the linear drain;
- angled strip for the base: used in square or rectangular bases, where the drain is located in the corner of the base.
In addition, the shower drain strip can be flat or angled and can come in various lengths. Special attention should be paid to strips that allow adjusting the angle of inclination of the strip to a specific installation. This solution ensures optimal water drainage from the shower surface, protecting the bathroom from flooding. It is relatively easy to install, even in the case of an uneven floor.
Which Slope Strip to Choose?
The choice of the appropriate slope strip for a shower without a shower base or with a base is crucial for ensuring functionality, aesthetics, and user comfort. This is an element that, contrary to what it seems, also influences the appearance of the bathroom, so slope strips for linear drains should be matched to the style of the room, e.g., to the color of the tiles.
The strip for the shower is a product that is usually available in several colors to choose from; besides classic chrome, you can find black, white, or gold strips, which will look great in any interior. According to individual preferances, we can choose matte or glossy strips. The choice also depends on the placement of the shower; it can be a right slope strip or a left slope strip.
How to Install a Slope Strip?
Installing slope strips is not complicated and can be done by yourself; here is a handful of tips on how to approach this task.
First, choose the right slope strip - make sure the strip is suitable for the type of base, drain, and bathroom arrangement. Gather the necessary tools and materials; you will need a level, hammer, drill, screwdriver, sanitary silicone, tape measure, and pencil.
- thoroughly clean and dry the surface of the base or floor where the strip will be installed;
- mark the position of the strip using the level. Ensure the strip is set at the correct angle of incline towards the drain;
- mark, and then drill mounting holes;
- apply sanitary silicone on the edge of the bottom side of the strip;
- attach the strip to the base using screws and mounting plugs, and seal the joints between the strip and base, as well as around the mounting holes.
A properly mounted slope base strip will ensure convenient use of the shower and an aesthetic finish to the bathroom.
