Based on the bowl's construction, standing bowls can be divided into: bowls with a rim, without a rim, with a shelf, or a well. The choice of a particular option depends on the needs and preferences of users, so it's worth knowing what to expect from the toilet bowl you want to install in your bathroom.
A rimmed toilet bowl is a standard solution, but it is not without flaws - one is the accumulation of dirt and bacteria inside the rim, which makes cleaning and maintaining the right level of hygiene in the bathroom significantly more difficult. The choice of a particular variant depends on the type of plumbing in our bathroom - determining the type of waste outlet is extremely important and allows us to avoid later complications resulting from improperly fitted ceramics. Such important issues should be established at the very beginning of bathroom arrangement, which facilitates further finishing decisions.
We choose a bowl with a horizontal outlet, also known as a Poznań bowl, when the outlet is located in the wall. A model with a vertical outlet (also known as a Warsaw bowl) is used when the outlet is in the floor. The third option is a universal outlet, which works well in both cases - however, this option is the least commonly chosen.
Size Matters
One of the criteria for selection, which is of great importance when shopping, is the size of the suite - a properly chosen product should proportionally match the size of the entire space, which is especially important in bathrooms with limited space. First, measure the suite, paying special attention to its length (distance from the front edge to the wall) - too short will not fit properly against the wall, while too long will prevent proper installation of the ceramics.
