When designing a bathroom, it's worth considering the question: bath or shower? There are many arguments for both products. A square shower cabin is a good solution for bathrooms, especially smaller ones in apartments, and can save you a lot of time and money. Showering is quicker and should also use less water.
Advantages of a Square Shower Cabin
In our bathrooms, shower cabins have become well-established, partially replacing traditional baths. If due to the small size of a bathroom, a bath is not possible, or maybe you simply prefer a shower, then before choosing the right cabin, consider a few aspects. Before buying the right shower cabin, you likely have the bathroom design planned, so it's worth fitting the shower to match the style.
You can find both modern and classic showers. The placement of the shower depends entirely on the size of your bathroom. In large spaces, you can even have a freestanding shower, with glass on one side and an overhead shower. With custom designs, you also have more options for choosing individual structural elements, including the way the cabin opens.
Most importantly, custom-made cabins work in situations where you want to maximize bathroom space without wasting space unnecessarily, and pondering whether a shower will fit, or if you should choose a different cabin.
Shape, Types, Installation, and Shower Tray
When choosing a shower, we have many options. One of them is the type. Square shower cabins come in several types. They can be corner units. What does this mean? That one side adjoins a wall. These types of cabins are easy to maintain. Another type is recessed showers, which are installed in niches. Freestanding cabins work well in large bathrooms.
Cabins are also divided into framed, frameless, and glass panes. The first are usually the cheapest. Frameless ones are made of high-quality glass and are larger. Glass pane cabins fit any interior. We can also choose any shape of shower tray. For a square shower cabin, obviously, a square one is best. However, there are also rectangular, round, and semi-circular options.
Cabins are also made from various materials. You can choose between less durable plastics or more durable glass. Cabins vary in terms of installation. They can be installed on a tray, bath, or directly on the floor. Using a tray is popular and easy to install. Now, floor-mounted showers are also trendy, where the drain is in the middle. This solution is in line with modern design.
Shower Maintenance
Depending on what your shower is made of, you can use different products for its maintenance. For cleaning surfaces - whether acrylic or another material - sanitary gels can be used. Various creams and powders with marble dust are suitable only for certain types of enamel in steel or cast iron baths.
Another popular solution is using water with baking soda. Soda helps remove dirt and does not scratch surfaces. In the past, water with vinegar was also used because vinegar kills bacteria. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a very pleasant smell, which can be off-putting.
Some people also recommend water with lemon juice for polishing the shower. This is certainly a better solution than vinegar, as lemon has a beautiful, fresh, and pleasant scent. However, it's not a cheap solution.
