What Material and Size of Shower Tray to Choose?

The dynamic development of bathroom fittings has increased the options for choosing shower trays on the market. The decision to choose a specific shower tray depends on several factors, including the material it is made from, dimensions, siphon construction, and where it is to be located. Remember to familiarize yourself with each available model and installation method. When choosing the right shower tray, we should be guided by our individual preferences as well as our expectations of what should be fulfilled in our interior.

Acrylic or Steel?

A shower tray made of acrylic has a warm, smooth surface that is easy to keep clean. When caring for an acrylic shower tray, do not use strong chemical agents, only a gentle sponge with dishwashing liquid. Strong agents can scratch the surface of the tray. It's best to use suitable foams for acrylic shower trays, which are rinsed only with cold water. Shower trays offered are equipped with an additional AntiSlide coating. This coating is used to ensure safety during bathing and is applied only to acrylic shower trays.

Steel shower trays have a very hard surface that is difficult to scratch. They are resistant to abrasion and have enormous mechanical strength. The key role is also in the thickness of the enamel. If we choose a tray with a coating thickness below 0.2 centimetres, none of the trays will meet our expectations. The best and most durable solution is trays with a coating of at least 2.5-3 centimetres thick.

Mineral Cast or Composite?

The choice of a shower tray is a very difficult decision, so it's worth analysing all possibilities. A shower tray made of mineral cast is characterized by high aesthetic qualities. They look very elegant and modern. They have a smooth surface that is easy to keep clean. A major advantage of a mineral cast tray is its resistance to chemicals and staining. It is resistant to abrasion and temperature changes, which helps maintain its original appearance for a longer period. Mineral trays are usually low, making them very easy to mount on the floor or embed into it.

Composite is a mixture of stones bonded with resin. Shower trays made of composite are strong, durable, and available in various colours. Composite is a material that is easy to cut and perfectly fits the shower enclosure. A composite tray gives the impression of a uniform surface, optically enlarging the area. It is the most modern form of a shower tray.

Each material from which a shower tray is made has both advantages and disadvantages, but the choice is yours. Currently, there is a wide range of rectangular shower trays on the market.

The Ideal Size for a Rectangular Shower Tray

The choice of shower tray size depends on the dimensions of our bathroom. If we have a small bathroom, it is best to use smaller tray sizes such as 80 by 100 centimetres. Of course, there is no problem applying a larger tray in a small bathroom, but I think everyone values comfort and space. In a small bathroom, every centimetre matters. When we adequately place sanitary ceramics and furniture according to the bathroom's dimensions, we create a beautiful, modern space.

For large bathrooms, we have many more possibilities to arrange the interior. In large bathrooms, larger shower trays present beautifully and stylishly. We also have the option to place recreational equipment. We have the opportunity to go crazy and create our beautiful dream masterpiece!
