Why Rectangular Bathtubs?

Even though today's sanitary market offers a vast array of different forms and shapes of bathtubs, it is the rectangular ones that have remained the most popular and frequently chosen solution by clients for many years. This is because it has numerous advantages that translate into everyday comfort of use.

Classics Never Go Out of Style

Although designers at bathroom solution companies strive to create the best shower cabins, which, apart from the obvious benefit of saving space, also offer comfort to household members, they still cannot match the comfort provided only by a relaxing, long bath in a tub. For this reason, when building or renovating homes and apartments, almost everyone tries to ensure their bathrooms have space for what they consider an essential element of such space, the rectangular bathtub. It is the most classic, traditional shape that remains incredibly popular to this day, and it's no wonder, as this type of tub is able to provide the highest level of relaxation during a bath whenever we return home tired after a long day's work or want to get rid of the stress that's been bothering us.

How to Choose the Perfect Rectangular Bathtub?

When choosing a rectangular bathtub for our bathroom, we must first answer a few extremely important questions. First of all, what space do we have available and what portion of that space are we able to allocate for the bathtub installation so that other necessary items in the bathroom, such as a washing machine, sink, or furniture, also have their place and the whole remains comfortable and uncluttered. The most traditional rectangular bathtubs will be between approximately 120 and 200 centimeters long, and their width will range from 70 to 100 centimeters. Of course, the larger the tub, the more comfortable the bath, but in this instance, it is also important to consider... the height of the household members. A man below 170 centimeters tall will obviously need a smaller tub than, for example, a professional basketball player. Therefore, the choice should always be preceded by fittings, as one can even step into a tub in a store and check whether it will be comfortable.

The next choice to be made is the material. A rectangular bathtub can be made from one of three most popular materials: steel, cast iron, and acrylic. The first type is made from sheet metal, and then a protective enamel coating is applied. Steel tubs are heavy, lose heat quickly, which causes the inconvenience of needing to refill warm water, but they are extremely durable against all kinds of damage. In contrast, products made from cast iron will be even heavier than steel ones, reaching weights of up to 100 kilograms, which can cause significant transport, lifting, and installation issues. However, they are durable and lose heat slower than steel. For a dozen or so years, rectangular bathtubs made from acrylic have been gaining popularity. This material is warm, retains water temperature well, and most importantly, is very lightweight. Unfortunately, it is quite delicate and cannot be cleaned with all chemical agents, but only gentler ones or those specifically designed for acrylic materials.

A Perfectly Placed Rectangular Bathtub for Years of Comfort

Finally, when installing a rectangular bathtub in our bathroom, we must also remember that it must be part of the larger whole, which is the bathroom space. It must therefore be stylistically consistent with other decor elements, such as wall tiles, or furniture and other white ceramics like sinks and toilet bowls. To ensure the entire space is cohesive, it is worth first reviewing ready-made solutions available online or in showrooms, as this should make decision-making much simpler and less risky. It's important to remember to leave enough space beside our chosen corner tub for all bathroom accessories and cosmetics so that towels are also within arm's reach, and finally, consider such indulgences as space for candles or a glass of wine for the bath. By doing so, we will create the perfect interior for ourselves and our family, where staying will always be the utmost pleasure.
