How to care for a bidet?

In our homes, we strive to choose modern and proven solutions that ensure aesthetics and high functionality. That is why we are increasingly deciding to install a bidet. It allows for convenient hygiene of intimate areas. Until recently, some people had never encountered this product and initially wondered what a bidet was for. Nowadays, such situations are becoming rarer, and bidets enjoy greater popularity. Check if a wall-hung bidet is the perfect solution for you.

Buying a bidet. Which model to choose?

Wall-hung and floor-standing bidets are available on the market. Many manufacturers include them in their offers because for many customers, this solution becomes a mandatory element of bathroom equipment. And which bidet is worth choosing? A wall-hung bidet is by far the most commonly chosen product because its design matches suspended toilet bowls. Remember that the bathtub, shower cabin, toilet bowls, and other bathroom equipment should have a cohesive design. It's worth planning the arrangement of equipment when designing the bathroom.

Floor-standing models are currently much less popular, but if we decide on a compact toilet, a wall-hung bidet will not look good. It's worth then browsing through floor-standing bidets. A bidet undoubtedly helps maintain hygiene in intimate areas. Unfortunately, not every bathroom will have enough space for its installation, in which case it's worth considering installing a washing toilet. It might be slightly more expensive than the standard product, but it will undoubtedly provide us with greater functionality. A washing toilet is an excellent alternative to a bidet, especially in small bathrooms. It's worth placing the bidet directly next to the toilet bowl. Remember to leave about 30 centimetres of free space on both sides of it to make using the bidet function comfortably. To facilitate setting the appropriate water temperature, it's worth having a bidet tap with one handle instead of two separate taps. When choosing a tap, make sure it provides the right water flow; for many people, the best models are those that have a special hose, thanks to which you can conveniently rinse yourself after using the toilet. The bidet tap should also match the washbasin tap.

Some people are bothered by how a bidet looks; in such situations, they can purchase a special cover that partially hides it.

How to maintain a bidet?

A bidet should be kept in perfect cleanliness because it is used to rinse intimate areas. Poor hygiene can contribute to infections, so we should regularly ensure that the bidet is always clean and tidy. Small children often like to use the bidet to quickly fill water or wash their hands because for a long time it is more convenient for them than higher-placed washbasins. Due to its suitable construction, a bidet can also be used to rinse dirty shoes. Therefore, we should try to rinse it thoroughly after such activities, so dirty streaks do not remain on it. Currently, wall-hung bidets are the most popular because they complement suspended toilet bowls. Remember, when choosing a bidet for your bathroom, make sure it comes from the same manufacturer as the toilet bowl, preferably from the same product line. This way, you can be sure that the bidet will have a similar design and identical shade of white.

Ceramic bidets should be cared for in the same way as other sanitary devices. We must remember to use cleaning agents marked by their effectiveness in removing limescale deposits when cleaning them. The edges of the bidet should be cleaned using disinfectants, e.g., alcohol-based. The bidet also has a tap. Be careful not to scratch it while cleaning. It's best to use a soft sponge and a cleaning agent suitable for limescale deposits. We are also advocates of ecological agents, so if you want to try lesser-known solutions, you can prepare a homemade solution of water with distilled vinegar or with lemon juice. This will certainly manage limescale. Installing a bidet is a good solution for those who appreciate proven solutions that help maintain intimate hygiene.
