Where to install a concealed set for a bidet?

For several years now, bidets, which are very practical fixtures, have been increasingly installed in Polish bathrooms. They are mainly appreciated by women, but they also have many male supporters. Both standing and wall-hung bidets are available on the market. The latter require special installation because such models need an appropriate installation frame. Find out how to properly mount a bidet and what exactly differentiates it from a toilet bowl.

What is a bidet?

The appearance of bathroom fixtures referred to as bidets is similar to a toilet bowl, but it is not a toilet. It serves mainly for washing or refreshing intimate areas. When deciding to install a bidet in your bathroom, it's worth ensuring it comes from the same manufacturer as the rest of the equipment in the bathing space (preferably from the same collection). This will maintain the coherence of the bathroom arrangement, and the room's aesthetics will be very pleasing to the eye.

Standing bidet or maybe wall-hung? What to choose?

It's important to know that standing bidets are less troublesome to install. In their case, you only need to remember to maintain appropriate distances both in front of and to the sides of the bidet. It's also important that it is pushed as close to the bathroom wall as possible. Only in this way can the use of a standing bidet proceed comfortably. This ensures that intimate hygiene will be quick and comfortable. To mount this type of bidet, mounting bolts are used, which are usually covered with masking caps. Thus, its connection to the floor is invisible and at the same time very aesthetic.

The situation is different when a wall-hung model requires installation. For this type of bidet, the frame hidden in the wall plays a significant role. This type of construction allows the bidet to be attached in a chosen place without visible joints, thus with ease, it's possible to enclose unusable recesses or other types of nooks. It's worth knowing that installing a wall-hung bidet allows for floor cleaning directly under this fixture. Moreover, this solution will hide all unsightly looking water connections. It's worth knowing that wall-mounted bathroom elements significantly enhance its aesthetics, giving the room a neat and modern look.

How to install a bidet?

The installation of a wall-hung bidet proceeds in a very similar way as the installation of a concealed toilet bowl. The entire assembly is mounted directly on the wall or on a concealed frame which is then placed on the wall. Then such a construction should be enclosed with plasterboard on which ceramic tiles are glued. Of course, like any washbasin, the bidet cannot function without an appropriate tap and drain. This ensures, among other things, access to warm water and a smooth and pleasant way to ensure quick intimate hygiene.

Where to install a bidet?

The location for installing a bidet is dictated by two considerations - practical and technical. Practically, it's worth selecting a location for the bidet installation near the toilet bowl to make all hygiene activities efficient and simply convenient. Technically, it's best to install the bidet near the drain, somewhere between the washbasin and the toilet bowl. This way, the work of specialists will go faster and will simply be easier, and the installation itself simpler, thus less prone to failure.

Key features of a wall-hung bidet

Of course, comfort and convenience are the main advantages of wall-hung bidets, but they are not their only positive aspects. Wall-hung bidets are noteworthy products because:

  • being positioned at a certain height from the floor, they allow keeping the bathroom space appropriately clean;
  • available concealed sets for the bidet come with a set of parts enabling their efficient installation;
  • a coherent and extremely aesthetic arrangement is created in the room;
  • all plumbing elements and frames responsible for connecting the bidet and its proper functioning are hidden deep in the wall;
  • concealed frames are extremely durable, so the bidet can serve household members for many years.
