Corner baths - perfectly utilised space

Small bathroom space? That's no longer a problem! All the most well-known companies in the sanitary equipment industry offer many different types of corner baths. They are extremely space-efficient, while being just as comfortable as rectangular baths, saving such important space in small rooms. It's a smart solution that we'll enjoy for many years.

Why are corner baths such a good solution?

Small bathroom spaces, which are unfortunately common in Irish construction, are a real challenge for those planning to place a comfortable, spacious bath in such a space. After all, everyone wants to create their mini spa, where they can not only wash after a hard day, full of demanding tasks, but also relax and get rid of stress, which we absolutely don't need at home. Of course, the best solution would be to have a large bathroom, preferably one with a window, where a large, designer bath can easily fit, and there would still be plenty of free space in the room. So, in a small bathroom, do you necessarily have to give up the desired bath for a shower, which doesn't offer residents the same level of comfort? Of course not. Designers from the largest and most well-known bathroom equipment companies come to the aid of residents with small bathrooms. Thanks to their efforts, corner baths have been created that, thanks to their shapes fitting into the room's corners, cleverly save space while offering a high level of comfort. A corner bath with a longer side measuring 150 centimetres can offer residents the same spacious area as a regular bath with a length of 170 centimetres. In apartment blocks and their prevailing cramped conditions, these extra 20 centimetres turn out to be a very important benefit, allowing, for example, the installation of a larger cabinet under the sink or additional furniture, which increases the storage possibilities for various cosmetics and bathroom accessories.

Types of corner baths

The most common shapes of these solutions are triangles and tapering rectangles. Usually, one of the longer edges is straight, while the other is most often rounded. This saves space but simultaneously ensures comfort when lying in such a shaped bath. A very good solution can also be enhancing the décor with an elegant shower screen, for example, made of tempered glass, which allows for a comfortable shower whenever a family member needs to wash quickly and doesn't have time for a long bath. In this way, one can combine the best features of both a bath and a shower while saving space, which is important in a small bathroom space. A corner bath can occupy even 1/3 of this room's surface, without being in the way and leaving enough space to also install a spacious sink and all the furniture that should be in this area.

Comfort with a corner bath is easy to achieve

To ensure a very high level of comfort for all bath users in the bathroom, you can choose a corner-mounted model that is additionally equipped with a solution known from more luxurious models, namely a hydromassage. Due to the large competition in the bathroom fittings market, the prices of baths with hydromassage are much lower today than a few years ago, which means almost everyone can afford such a purchase. To prevent our bathroom from being overwhelmed by a corner bath that takes up a large part of the space, it is worth choosing to finish both it and the whole room in snow-white. It has been known for a long time that white colour optically enlarges interiors, so such tiles and bathroom furniture fronts will surely give a stunning effect. It can be further enhanced by placing a very large mirror on the wall above the bath, which is a well-known method, and by installing multi-source lighting. Instead of just one light on the ceiling, you can enhance the spaciousness effect by installing several additional, smaller LED lamps. Residents can then choose the type of light in the bathroom that they prefer the most.
