Tile Installation Price List for 2025 – How Much Does Tiling Really Cost?

When planning to renovate a bathroom, kitchen, or living room, we often assume it is enough to buy tiles and pay a professional to lay them. In practice, the matter is more complicated. Simply sticking the tiles is only part of the work – often the surface needs to be prepared, levels ensured, or additional cuts and finishes made. All of this influences the final price. If you are planning a renovation soon and don't know how much to allocate for tiling work, we are here to help. See what the cost of laying tiles in a small bathroom, a large kitchen, or a narrow hallway in 2025 is.

What will you learn from this article?

Every investor would like to know the final cost of the service and what budget to allocate for the renovation. In the article, you'll find practical information about rates for various types of tiles and additional tiling work. We will discuss issues such as:

  • The cost of installing standard ceramic tiles and gres, and laying mosaic in 2025

  • Prices for laying small tiles, mosaics, and tiles in diamond patterns in larger and smaller localities.

  • The impact of surface preparation, grouting, and finishes on the overall cost of the renovation.

  • Services that can significantly affect labor costs.

Surface preparation – an important but often overlooked cost

Even surfaces are essential. If the floor or wall requires leveling, a self-leveling screed is necessary. The cost is usually 70–90 zł per square meter. Walk-in showers with linear drains are popular in bathrooms. To create them, a suitable slope must be formed, costing usually 400–500 zł.

What is the approximate cost of laying tiles?

Tilers do not have a universal price list – the rate depends on the tile size, type of grout, and whether the surface is standard or more challenging to work with. We most often choose ceramic tiles of sizes 30 × 60 cm, 40 × 40 cm, or 60 × 60 cm (or similar). Their installation is relatively simple, does not require specialized tools, and does not take excessively long.
Currently, tilers charge about 110–160 zł per square meter for finishing with such tiles.

The prices for laying tiles can be high, so if you want to reduce the overall cost of the investment, check out our advice on choosing tiles for a small bathroom.

Laying tiles in a diamond pattern – decorative effect at a higher price

If we want tiles laid diagonally (at a 45-degree angle), we need to prepare for a higher bill. This work requires more precision and results in more waste since more cutting is needed. Such arrangements are impressive but come with a higher cost. The price of the service increases by an average of 50 zł, so be prepared for a rate of 160–200 zł per square meter.

Small tiles – the finer, the more expensive

Tiles measuring 10 × 10 cm, 15 × 15 cm, or 20 × 20 cm have their unique charm but mean more work for the tiler. More of them go on one square meter than the standard 'sixty' tiles, so the time needed for installation automatically extends. What is the cost of laying a meter of these tiles? Depending on the voivodeship, it ranges from 150 to 200 zł per square meter.
This increases the price to 150–200 zł/m².

Mosaic – the most labor-intensive and expensive

Mosaic looks beautiful but requires patience and precision to install. All sheets must be perfectly matched, and then meticulously grouted. It's no wonder it's one of the more expensive services. How much does installing a mosaic cost? Prices can reach up to 300 zł per square meter.

Large-format tiles – a glamorous effect, but also higher cost

Increasingly, we choose large formats, such as 80 × 80 cm or 100 × 100 cm. They look modern, but their installation is quite a challenge. The tiles are heavy, require additional carrying accessories, and often two-person work. You will pay an average of 170–280 zł per m2 for laying large-format tiles.

Quartz sinters – the highest price range

Quartz sinters are exceptionally thin and large tiles, which can reach dimensions of 100 × 300 cm. They require experience, specialized tools, and great caution. It's not surprising that the prices for laying floor tiles are the highest – most often 300–400 zł/m2. Some specialists charge extra for just bringing such tiles into the apartment.

Grouting – a finish that also costs

After sticking the tiles, the gaps need to be filled. Ordinary cement grouting is sometimes included in the price, but some teams charge extra for it – about 30–40 zł/m2. Epoxy grouting is much more expensive, being more durable and resistant to moisture. Rates here reach 45–70 zł/m2.

Tile skirting and corner polishing

If you want the wall fully finished, the tiler can cut tiles into narrow strips to use as skirting along the floor. This is a small but time-consuming work, for which usually 40–60 zł per linear meter is paid.
A nicely finished corner is the icing on the cake. You can use strips, but polishing the edges at a 45-degree angle is more elegant. Some tilers include this in a higher overall rate, while others charge extra – usually 60–80 zł per linear meter.

Attention! While laying tiles, it is often necessary to prepare holes for sockets or pipes. Special diamond drills are used for this. A specialist will charge about 40–60 zł for drilling a hole.

Cutting tiles or removing old tiles comes with significant costs. If you want to minimize the overall cost of the renovation, see what you can use instead of standard tiles in the bathroom.

The table with the average prices for tiling services allows for a few interesting conclusions. Mosaic installation prices are significantly higher than for gres. The highest average prices for laying gres, mosaics, and skirting installation are in the Mazovia, Lesser Poland, and Opole voivodeships. The cheapest services are in the Lubusz, Kujawy-Pomerania, Świętokrzyskie, and Warmia-Masuria voivodeships.

Price differences in Poland are significant, and how much laying tiles costs depends on the region of Poland. Work that requires more precision and services where the grounding of the surface is necessary will cost even twice as much as laying terracotta in standard dimensions.

Summary: How much does laying tiles cost?

As you can see, the price of laying tiles in 2025 is not fixed – everything depends on the type of tiles, their size, and additional work. Standard tiles cost around 110–160 zł/m2, but with mosaics or quartz sinters, the cost can be several times higher. Plus, you need to add tile removal, surface preparation, tile cutting or additional finishes. The cost of laying tiles is just a fraction of what you will spend on tiling work.

When planning a renovation, consider the cost of the tiles themselves but also the labor. Don't look for the cheapest solutions, because it might turn out that after a while the tiles will start to fall off and you will have to order corrections.
