Bidets and washing toilets are an excellent idea, increasingly used when designing modern bathrooms. The variety of solutions in this area allows for finding the perfect solution tailored to each customer's needs. If you're considering buying a bidet but are hesitant because you're not sure how to install one, check out our tips.
Choose the Right Bidet Kit
If you've decided to purchase a bidet and bidet tap, you need to consider what type of device will work best in your toilet. You can choose, for example, standing bidets, mounted like a compact WC directly on the floor, or wall-mounted sets on an in-wall frame. The decision depends largely on the room's size where you plan to install it. It's also good to pay attention to existing connections, which will help you choose the right place to install the set.
In the case of a small toilet with a sink and WC bowl, there might not be any room for a classic bidet. In this situation, a modern washing toilet with a bidet function or a functional bidetta set, which consists of a bidet handle with a long hose, might work equally well. It is used with the toilet bowl in the bathroom. It's also worth mentioning that installing a bidetta set within an hour does not require special skills.
How to Install a Wall-Mounted Bidet Set?
A wall-mounted bidet set requires hanging on a solid frame directly on the wall. The entire set, including the bowl and tap, if not integrated with the bidet, hangs on the frame. The first step in bidet installation is determining the height at which it will hang. Ideally, it should be installed at the level of the existing bathroom equipment, such as the WC bowl. Don't forget to maintain appropriate distances between the bowls to ensure convenient access to both bathroom elements.
A crucial element during bidet installation is the proper preparation of connections. The bidet should be installed near water supply risers, preferably using an existing angle valve supplying cold water and the necessary water elbows for proper bidet operation. A wall-mounted bidet on a frame doesn't require dealing with a tank mounted at the correct height, which occurs with a WC compact installation. The next step will be the installation of the siphon and bidet tap. Installation requires temporarily shutting off the water supply, but if you have the necessary wrench and other tools, you can quickly connect the water and mount the entire device.
Instead of a classic bidet, you can opt for a toilet seat with a bidet function. The installation involves unscrewing the existing connection - the hose to the sink, screwing in the included tee, reconnecting the hoses to the seat, and it's done.
How to Install a Bidetta-Type Bidet Kit?
Many people in small bathrooms cannot install a classic bidet but do not want to give up this convenience. In such situations, a bidetta kit, which you can easily install, is a perfect solution. All you need is a standard toilet and existing connection - the hose with an integrated bidet handle holder is mounted on the wall bracket, and it's ready.
Connect the hose with a durable bidet handle to the hot water valve, giving you a multifunctional hygiene centre. If you have an unused angle valve nearby, previously used, for example, for connecting a washing machine, you can also use it. Simply unscrew the existing angle valve and remove the old hose, then install DIAM with an integrated bidet handle holder in its place.
The bidetta, which you can install yourself, not only facilitates essential hygiene activities but also has many other practical uses. The long hose with which the bidet handle is equipped allows for, for example, rinsing reusable diapers, conveniently cleaning the WC bowl, washing the floor, etc. With the installed bidet handle, you can also fill a bucket with cold water and perform many other tasks not possible with a classic bidet tap. The main advantages, in addition to functionality, are the easy and very quick installation.
