Outdoor Porcelain Tiles: Technology That Won't Let You Down

All outdoor porcelain tiles from Mexen are made from glazed porcelain – an exceptionally hard material fired at very high temperatures. This gives it an almost completely impermeable structure, which directly translates to frost resistance and crack resistance. Even with sudden temperature changes, often occurring in autumn or winter, terrace tiles maintain their properties and do not deform. The PEI 4 PEI 3 wear classes ensure that the surface withstands daily use in difficult conditions.

It is the technical parameters that make Mexen ceramic tiles a more practical solution than marble or travertine. Natural stone requires regular impregnation and is prone to discoloration, whereas terrace porcelain does not need any additional maintenance. Even persistent dirt, such as mud or rain deposits, can be removed with ordinary water or a mop. The glaze layer protects the surface from stains and gives an aesthetic appearance – from a gentle matte, like in Dublin Bianco, to gloss in models such as Belco Grey. An additional advantage is UV resistance – colors do not fade, and the terrace or balcony retains a fresh look for many years.

Safety and Aesthetics – Terrace Porcelain as a Reliable Finishing Material

Mexen outdoor porcelain is not only durable but also safe. Terrace porcelain tiles finished in matte, matte GT, and carving have an R9 anti-slip class, which means they provide good traction in everyday conditions. This is particularly important in areas exposed to moisture, such as balconies, terraces, or stairs. Unlike marble, whose polished surface can be very slippery, porcelain remains stable even after rain. Additionally, it boasts high resistance to scratches and mechanical damage. Moving garden chairs, contact with pots, or children's play does not leave visible traces.

The advantage of porcelain tiles is also their impact resistance. They are characterized by high hardness and do not crack under the weight of heavy objects, making them a much more practical choice than natural materials. The rectified format of 120×60 cm allows for installation with minimal grout, giving the effect of a uniform, elegant surface. This solution facilitates cleaning and highlights the modern character of the arrangement. Mexen offers both external porcelain tiles imitating stone and natural wood, such as Neo Travertino Crema, allowing you to harmoniously connect terrace space with the garden surroundings or the house facade.
